The story
Mortgage lending runs in the family.
Debbie grew up watching her mother work as a mortgage lender — so when she started her own lending career in the early '90s after Winona State, it felt less like choosing a job and more like continuing a family trade. Over three decades she built her craft across some of Minnesota's best-known lending shops: GMAC, Bell Mortgage, and twelve years at PrimeLending as a Production Manager and Senior Loan Officer, before bringing her practice to Fairway.
Today she leads Fairway's Sartell branch on Troop Drive, serving the greater St. Cloud area —first homes, next homes, refinances, and the season after the mortgage.
That last part is personal. Early in her career, a 90-year-old client who had outlived her savings was determined to stay in her house — and a reverse mortgage made it possible. Years later, after Debbie's father passed away, a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage let her own mother stay in her home on her own terms. Debbie went on to complete Fairway's reverse mortgage training, and she brings one question to every HECM conversation: would I recommend this to my own mother?
Away from the office, you'll find Debbie with her husband Joe — boating, golfing, traveling, and soaking up time with their son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter Vienna.
